Thai Sitting Buddha (Riverstone)
The Thai Sitting Buddha is hand-carved from one solid piece of riverstone. Each statue is one of a kind and perfect for indoor or outdoor use. He sits in the full lotus pose (Padmasana) and his hands are the meditation (Dhyana) mudra. His head is depicted with curly, short hair and a large flame as a symbol of his spirituality, his elongated ears symbolize a conscious rejection of the material world in favor of spiritual enlightenment, and his eyes are half-closed to show a state of mediation. This type of Thai Buddha is typical for the Chieng Mai style.
